At the meeting we had two key areas of focus. The first around skills and employment and the Sheffield and South Yorkshire wide approach to bringing together skills supply, employment and productivity (we spent some time discussing both the Local Skills Improvement Plan (Item 2) and the way in which Sheffield College’s vision fits with this approach (Item 3)). The second was on the city strategy – this item included an update on the work which has been undertaken thus far to develop the evidence base for future work (the economic baseline commission), as well as a proposal for how this project could be taken forward.
