The Sheffield Race Equality Commission was established in Summer 2020 to provide an independent strategic assessment of the nature, extent, causes and impacts of racism and race inequality within the city.
Chair of the Commission, Professor Emeritus Kevin Hylton from Leeds Beckett University, launched the final report and recommendations on Thursday 14th July 2022.

Sheffield City Partnership Board is committed to ensuring that its membership is more representative of the diversity of the city, that we are in a position to effectively engage with and advocate for our communities around key challenges, and also that SCPB and other partnerships across Sheffield and the region are shaped to respond to the vision and missions we intend to set out in the city strategy.
A Working Group, chaired by Neill Birchenall our Vice Chair, has been established to develop a set of proposals and a plan for how we address the make up and membership of the Board.
